Imus Heritage Park, a reminder of the Battle of Alapan and our National Flag

Imus Heritage Park - Battle of Alapan - Schadow1 Expeditions

The Imus Heritage Park in Alapan, Imus, Cavite brandishes a large Philippine flag fixed on a 90-foot flagpole which commemorates the first time our country's flag has been hurled in victory after the last of the Spanish colonial forces in the country has been defeated last May 28, 1898. This is over the Philippine victory on the Battle of Alapan that paved the way to Philippine Independence.

The First Jose Rizal Monument

Jose Protacio Rizal, one of the martyrs during the Spanish colonial that fought for the rights of a Filipino to have equal rights with the colonizers, laid down his life at Bagumbayan, now famously known as Luneta Park in Manila. Yet a few of us know that there is an earlier monument of Rizal and is the first of its kind.
