The Sunken Cemetery or also known as the Pasil Reef in Camiguin is a result of the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vulcan and Mt. Hibok-Hibok that pushed the cemetery below sea level. by 1982, a cross was erected by the Department of Tourism. The site possesses a great scenery which is attractive to photographers and even a movie in the Philippines used this location for filming.
The Sunken Cemetery is located at Bonbon town of the western side of Camiguin Island. Facing west, it is a great scenery to behold especially during sunset.
As the location was a result of lava flow from Mt. Vulcan during the 19th century eruption, the undersea features are magnificent, in fact it is already a coral reef and also know as Pasil Reef. A spectacular dive site for those who wanted to view corals and diverse underwater species that thrive along the old tombstones.
The underwater creatures that thrive under this sunken cemetery includes, sea horses, manta rays and eels.
We went to this place during our road trip to Camiguin to map the island and so we didn't have our dive gear with us so we failed to take a look under. However, the scenery above it is spectacular enough for a series of photo shoot.
There is no entrance fee however if you brought a motorcycle, there is a Php 10 parking fee. A line of souvenir retailers is along the pathway to the viewpoint and is available at cheap prices.

We were able to pass by the Sunken Cemetery using a rented motorcycle for P500/day. Other tours will allow you visit it using a multicab.
