Caliraya Lake Adventure

Caliraya Resort Club December 8-9, 2012

Caliraya lake is situated at the border of the provinces of Laguna, Rizal and Quezon, just passed the famous Pagsanjan Falls; and is at the northeastern part of Laguna de Bay (Laguna Lake). One weekend of December, our team was blessed to have our team building venue set at Caliraya Resort Club.

Caliraya lake is well-known as a fishing hobbyists' escape. With luck, fishers can catch Sea Bass along the span of the large Caliraya lake. However, we would not be getting into fishing as my experience when I was here was short and was focused on Caliraya Resort Club.

Caliraya Resort Club is a private resort with a wide area that is well-suited for team building events. The resort can be accessed via Caliraya - Cavinti arterial road where you can park your vehicle securely from a designated parking area for Caliraya Resort customers and then you will be ferried across a small portion of the lake for 200 meters towards the resort. It is about 100 kilometers away from Manila. An access road is also available via at the back of the Caliraya Resort area but is unpaved and is only used for transporting supplies to the resort.

The resort club has a vast area for various team building activities. Unfortunately during our stay, those were not used as the itinerary approved for the event is limited and not suited for a setting as big as Caliraya Resort Club.

As the area is large, the transportation from within various areas in the resort is courtesy of a Jeepney ride that goes around the area until 11:00PM.

Meals are buffet and has various choices, mostly Filipino cuisine. They may be regular Filipino dish served at your homes but they do taste good and you can get back as many times as your tummy can accommodate. Meals are served at the Caliraya Resort Hotel.

From this hotel, you can also check out its gazebo where it can give you a full view of the resort. You may grandeur the view as mountains such as Banahaw, Cristobal, and Sembrano can be seen from this area. The Gazebo however is for rent for team building activities but if no one is using it, the management allows its customers to stay for a while to enjoy the view.

Caliraya resort club has a  volleyball and basketball court, a mini-soccer field which can also be used for its "Monster Ball" game where you use a giant volleyball in replacement of a regular soccer ball. Swimming pool is also available. A pool for kids, a semi-olympic pool and a diving pool.

Rooms are also available in different facilities where prices also varies depending on the location. More private rooms are available on the hotel. Villas, a semi-private room which can accommodate up to 8 people on double decker beds, as well as what they call as Duplex 2-storey rooms which can accommodate up to 24 people.

Horse-back riding is also available, as well as wall-climbing. Fishing can also be used as an activity as there is a fishing pond however I am not sure if there is still anything you can fish from it when we were there. The fish pond be accessed via a hanging bridge.

Pinoy Slide

A mudslide is also available and is part of the obstacle course. A camping ground is provided along the resort's area facing the Caliraya lake.

Over-all, this resort is perfect for family and co-workers planning to have a stay over a weekend with jam-packed activities and is easily accessible from Manila via South Luzon Expressway or via Antipolo.

  1. Thank you for this post! It's amazing how this resort constantly adds new activities to their list, like today, they have ziplines and sky bicycle rides. It's worth visiting this resort every once in a while.
